Kate Upton Cover

Legendary Sports Illustrated photographer Walter Iooss has done it again.  His photo of 19 year old Melbourne, Florida native Kate Upton graces the cover of the annual swimsuit edition.  It’s Iooss’ 12th Swimsuit Issue cover.

The photographer and team of staff traveled to Australia for the shoot in late October and scouted locations by boat and helicopter.  They used the Great Barrier Reef and surrounding locations for a month.  Iooss hired his friend and longtime photo assistant Troy Robertson, who will be on the next Survivor One World, airing on CBS on February 15th.

The 2011 Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition cover of Irina Shayk was photographed by Walter’s son Bjorn Iooss in Hawaii.
